Day to Day Responsibilities:
Execute the work assigned by project leader, including process and product development, new product introduction, technology transfer, process diagnose and improvement, etc. Understand manufacturing requirements, design and develop process, demonstrate process feasibility and capability, finalize process concept and specification. Take part in or lead on problem solving, process fundamental understanding and improvement. Drive / take corrective actions to improve efficiencies and product quality through processes Collect process data from experimentation, pilot run or production and do 1st level data analysis. Do process documentation and process control work in projects. Measure and communicate progress against established objectives. Support production in high level of diagnostics. Design and conduct experimentation aimed at investigating manufacturing process alternatives Conduct hands on work in a laboratory and pilot environment. Be an active team member.Projects involved with:
Early identification and engagement on critical programs, with focus on providing novel solution paths aimed at enabling low-cost manufacturing processes. Development of processes that significantly improve capital efficiency. New product introductions and technology transfers with process and quality control. Applying first principal knowledge to resolve process issues further improve process stabilities and yield; also design low-cost manufacturing processes (or keystone components of those processes) for new businesses, adjacencies or to enable new materials. Projects could support any Corning division or new business. Projects could include external contacts and contracts.Requirement:
Minimum M.S. degree in relevant filed such as Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, or similar ≥5 years’ experience on research/development/engineering field Experience in problem solving Basic analytical skill that able to process data efficiently to provide solution to problems Manufacturing and engineering experience (international/multi-cultural manufacturing-based project experiences is a plus) High level diagnostic experience over a wide range of technologies including but not limited to Pad tablet, handheld, and/or smart watch electronics. Acquaintance technical fundamentals with process engineering and materials Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries Results oriented and high level of commitment The ability and self-driven to learn new technologies and processes quickly Proven technical presentation skills Good communication skills both verbal and written, including accurate recording of experiments, creating detailed documents, and reporting out or presentation within team. Good written and oral communications skills in English Able to collaborate with globe team in different time zones
