**Job Overview:**
The Process Electrician Superintendent role requires an in-depth understanding of project execution strategies, workforce management theories, and Process Electrician principles, with a basic knowledge of related disciplines. The Process Electrician Superintendent must be able to apply industry insights to enhance on-site productivity, provide leadership, and influence processes and policies for effective workforce governance, as well as identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems that impact project outcomes. The Process Electrician Superintendent’s decisions are pivotal in ensuring that the team meets its objectives with efficiency and adherence to safety standards. These decisions should be guided by established policies, resource allocations, budget considerations, and the overarching project plan.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise all process electrical activities in the fabrication department, ensuring that installation, maintenance, and repair work is performed in accordance with project specifications and safety standards
+ Enforce adherence to electrical safety regulations and best practices, conducting regular safety meetings and training to maintain a zero-incident workplace
+ Collaborate with project managers and other superintendents to coordinate electrical tasks with the overall project schedule, ensuring timely completion and integration with other trades
+ Oversee the selection, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation
+ Manage a team of process electricians, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve high-quality electrical work and adherence to industry standards
+ Monitor the use of materials and equipment, maintaining inventory control and ensuring the availability of necessary resources for project execution
+ Perform quality control inspections of electrical work, verifying that installations are up to code and meet operational requirements
+ Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure project objectives are met
+ Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
+ Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
+ Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Technical diploma or certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, or a related field, with a strong background in process electrical work within a fabrication setting
+ Proven experience as a process electrician with a history of progression to supervisory roles, demonstrating the ability to manage teams and projects
+ Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and practices, with a focus on safety and quality in electrical installations and maintenance
+ Experience in implementing and maintaining electrical safety protocols, with a commitment to creating a safe working environment
+ Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate electricians to perform at their best
+ Organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively to meet project deadlines
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders and convey technical information clearly
+ Flexibility to adapt to different project requirements and work environments, including the availability to work overtime or on shifts as needed
