13340BRJob Description: U. S. Steel is currently seeking an Electrical Maintenance Coordinator for the Maintenance, Services & Utilities department of its Fairfield Tubular Steel Operations. The Electrical Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for providing leadership, solutions, and strategic direction for power infrastructure facility wide. This includes power distribution and all substation and transformer maintenance, electrical lighting maintenance, and preventative transformer and maintenance control center maintenance. The successful candidate will have an extensive, high voltage power systems background, along with a good working knowledge of all related equipment and procedures.
Other Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Administer the U. S. Steel safety program to ensure a safe work environment, including proper housekeeping.
+ Apply management principles and problem- solving techniques to evaluate and resolve conditions to maximize operating efficiencies.
+ Use technical knowledge and equipment documentation, safety procedures, and schedules to follow, improve and develop preventive and routine maintenance/operation programs.
+ Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with operations staff
+ Assists Area Manager with planning, organizing, and managing area budget and expenditures to ensure strategic and cost-effective operations are adhered to.
+ Directly supervise union operations staff, and work closely with vendors and contractors as necessary.
+ Ensure environmental compliance.
+ Perform administrative activities such as scheduling crews, completing production reports, conducting safety conversations, and compiling other reporting as necessary by the operating facility.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or management preferred; relevant experience with high voltage power systems accepted.
+ Minimum 4 years’ experience in an operations atmosphere.
+ Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience required.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of power distribution, transformer maintenance, and SCADA systems
+ Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are critical.
