Job Overview:
The Small Onsite (SOS) Process control engineer is responsible for supporting the controland monitoring systems for all air separation facilitieslocated on non-Linde sites throughout the United States.
This support includes preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting of the advanced process control system hardware, software, and instrumentation. The position will require some small to medium size control system project execution as well. While providing this primary support, the process control engineer will interface with a variety of field, management, and technical personnel.

This position requires individuals to work well independently and in a team environment, making technical decisions based on a full awareness of viability, cost, and benefits of developed solutions.
The successful candidate willpossess a basic understanding of a chemical production processes, automated process control, proficiency with the process control content of PI diagrams, working knowledge of schematic wiring diagrams, a primary instrumentation background with emphasis on control system electrical and instrumentation components (valves, analyzers, field sensors, control panels, etc.) and familiarity with control system network architecture.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate significant technical independence, the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions, excellent project management skills and leadership in development of control system applications and safety standards. The role will have off-hours support as necessary to solve problems during non-working hours, with 10-20% travel the norm.
Preferred candidates will have skillsets that include air separation processes, control system support and maintenance of PLC based systems in real-time operation with an emphasis on process and control system troubleshooting in their background. Practical application experience with the Allen Bradley PLC product line (SLC500, PLC5, Logix5000, etc.), Siemens PCS7/Step 7, Modicon, Wonderware, iFIX Workspace and networking including LAN/WAN/Routers is also desired.
