We are seeking a professional like you to lead Process Analytical and Quality improvements to maximize profitability as part of the Technical Expertise department. We expect a highly qualified individual who will identify, champion, implement and maintain Process Automation Systems, specializing in the Process Analyzer Technology area. You will develop, analyze, and provide expert guidance on relevant Process Analytical Applications including expert recommendations of moving lab analysis to field, Key Performance Indicators, process analytical technology strategies and process analytical reliability improvements. You will also provide leadership to the other Technical Expertise Process Analyzer Engineers, as well as the North American Process Analyzer Network (NATN) including distribution of workloads, technology analysis and recommendations, and resource coordination for new investments, maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementation. You will provide a key contribution to the North American manufacturing sites on their Journey to Operational Excellence. **As a Process Analyzer Staff Engineer, you create chemistry by...** + Implementing new analytical solutions, which include developing the design & detail engineering scope of work, collaborating with various stakeholders, providing expertise on various analytical technologies, while adhering to established technical practices and procedures. + Providing leadership on project teams, which will include assisting with developing project approval packages, participating in approval review meetings, developing packages for contractors/vendors, and supporting contractor selection. + Providing expertise on Process Analyzer technology to all regions of BASF. You will actively work and lead regional and global process analyzer teams to provide evaluations of new analytical technologies, assistance to the process analyzer community globally on applications, and build continuous improvement into the process analytical discipline. + Sustaining and assisting in the troubleshooting of active Process Analyzer installations across the North American Region. Additionally, you will proactively optimize the current set-up for online analyzers at various sites and provide guidance and direction to plant personnel on maintaining online equipment. + Identifying and developing cost/benefit analysis for potential new projects in the Process Analyzer Technology arena. + Providing integration / divestiture support through risk assessments, Analyzer connectivity reviews, and coordination with the IT department to assure Analyzer connectivity protection. + Proactively working on Global Procurement Verbund Team for Process Analytics in the revalidation of approved suppliers, the testing and validation of new process analytical technologies, and the approval of 3rd party maintenance and support companies. **If you have...** + A bachelors degree in Chemical and/or Process Engineering. + 10+ years of work experience in the chemical industry with emphasis on Process Analyzers and Analytical Equipment. + Technical knowledge in the fundamentals of unit operations, such as batch and continuous reactions, distillation towers, heat exchangers and extraction processes. + Expertise in various online techniques like GCs, TOCs, various optical principles like IR, NIR, Raman etc., experience in MES and Automation, as well as your strong knowledge of networking and interaction between Analyzers, DCS, SIS, SCADA, LIMS, PIMs, and IS Systems. + Solid technical knowledge and experience in analyzer engineering, analyzer / analyzer sample system applications, and knowledge of control systems and control system configuration. + Strong computer skills and understanding of plant process control and advanced process control techniques and how they can be applied to monitor, control and/ or improve plant performance. + Strong operating systems experience in the Analytics area. **Create your own chemistry with you@BASF** At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
