Patient Scheduler - Radiation Oncology
PRN - as needed (7:30a - 4:00p)
Job Description:
Perform multiple functions associated with the overall coordination of patient care within the Radiation Oncology Department which include but are not limited to: registration in multiple software applications, scheduling of appointments within and outside of the department, retrieving medical records, obtaining referrals, ordering department supplies, collecting copays and outstanding patient balances, and triaging phone calls by patients and outside providers.
During patient registration this position will be responsible for gathering demographic and financial information that is pertinent for the outpatient visit to maintain customer satisfaction and HMH financial viability.
This position holds responsibility of collecting referrals and/or authorizations as needed to meet the ever-changing payer requirements.
Ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations and/or regulatory agencies.
Communicates effectively and efficiently with patients, physicians, clinicians, other office staff, and outside providers in various environmental settings to reflect Baptist Health values and culture.
Requirements:
High school graduate or equivalent required, or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent typing skills (50-60 wpm) preferred.
Previous secretarial experience preferred to include working knowledge of computers and work processing.
Medical terminology and oncology experience preferred.
