Job Summary

The job requires clinical expertise to provide quality care following research, methods, and Baylor Scott and White Health policies. The person will also be an educator, researcher, consultant, and facilitator.

Essential Functions of the Role

As a PRN Nurse Clinician, you will deliver specialized nursing care, provide patient education, and follow medical orders.You collaborate with the healthcare team. You define and execute care standards. You follow policies and guidelines.Assess patients' needs and response. Your judgment must always prioritize patients' best interests.You will create care plans and provide ongoing care to patients.Document the nursing process and use recent research for making care recommendations.Provide education on nursing interventions and emergencies. Coordinate in-service education programs to maintain high nursing standards.Providing counseling before surgery and addressing post-discharge issues is part of your job.

Key Success Factors

A comprehensive understanding of standards and procedures in nursing and patient care.Knowing laws, rules, regulations, certification/accreditation standards is important. Detailed knowledge of hospital procedures is also vital.Understanding medical terms and practices for health, disease prevention, and illness management, including medications and side effects.Deep understanding of nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.Skill in using computers and relevant software applications.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.The ability to interact effectively with a broad range of people.Excellent critical thinking and conceptual skills.Ability to offer excellent, patient-focused care tailored to various ages and cultures. This involves creating, assessing, and adjusting patient care plans for personal needs.

Qualifications

Completion of a program accreditedA minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience(RN) Registered Nurse LicensePossession of, or ability to obtain within (30) thirty days of employment, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
