Job Description:At Regions, the Private Wealth Management Credit Portfolio Manager is responsible for independently analyzing, underwriting, and negotiating credit decisions for standards Private Wealth Management (PWM) credit requests submitted by Private Wealth and Lending Advisors with minimal oversight. This position will serve on the First Line of Defense and will structure, analyze, and negotiate new private banking credit opportunities. The role will gather information and preform in-depth research to identify, quantify, and mitigate underwriting risk inherent to extending the bank’s capital. This role will be expected to develop strong working relationships with client management, internal teammates, credit officers, and other bankers.
Primary Responsibilities
Reviews highly complex and customized Private Wealth transactions above a designated threshold against Regions' credit standards, validates the appropriate risk rating, and recommends credit decision with autonomyStructures and negotiates complex PWM credit products to both competitively meet unique PWM client credit needs and minimize credit riskPrepares credit packages for new and renewed debt products including performing credit underwriting, analyzing financial statements and projections, utilizing financial models, determining appropriate risk rating, and identifying and mitigating credit risksMonitors and manages the credit exposure within Regions' Private Wealth portfolio and identifies opportunities for exposure reduction or new credit opportunitiesManages and conducts timely and ongoing portfolio monitoring and servicing activities for an assigned portfolio Oversees past due and maturing loans and workflow for an assigned portfolioMaintains expert knowledge of and ensures compliance with internal bank PWM, commercial loan policy, and consumer loan policy, credit risk appetite, and external regulatory requirementsDocuments exceptions to credit policy and related rationale/risk mitigation with autonomyAssesses risk issues using standard procedures and exercises excellent business judgementEngages with WAs and LAs for assigned portfolio, active in client planning and deal structuring by leading deal discussions and negotiationsConsults with both internal and external clients on PWM credit solutionsParticipates in pricing decisions for PWM credit solutionsReviews loan documents for accuracy prior to closingProvides coaching and mentorship for other associates and field partnersThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related fieldSeven (7) years of experience in commercial or PWM underwritingPreferences

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role.
