Private Markets Vice President

Office of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is engaged in delivering operational support to the front-office investment teams. Office of the COO works closely with Support Control Functions to oversee the daily operations of MSIM across the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions. Key functional roles include strategic initiatives, product development, portfolio surveillance, trading, hedging, valuation, insurance, regulatory oversight, risk management, data governance, documentation management and business administration.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team in a hybrid role that begins with a focus on distribution payments and transitions into a broader controller function. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in fee structures and fund operations, with the ability to lead process redesign and manage complex financial oversight across private funds.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the redesign and optimization of distribution payment processes MSIM Private Markets funds, including Trailer Fees, Investor Servicing Fees, Revenue Share Fees, and Placement Fees.Establish and maintain a robust control environment ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all fee calculations and payments.Serve as the primary liaison with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM), resolving payment-related inquiries and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.Drive remediation of legacy process breaks and implement scalable, automated solutions aligned with industry best practices.Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, investor services, fund admin, distribution) to ensure integration with broader operational transformation efforts.Prepare analytics and reports on payment trends, variances, and performance indicators.Oversee outsourced fund administration, including review of financial statements, NAVs, investor reporting and fee calculations.Support cross-border fund offerings and act as an officer of the General Partner, reviewing and approving fund-level cash movements, capital calls, distributions, and credit facility transactions.Lead vendor oversight, including onboarding/offboarding, service level reviews, and pricing analysis for fund administrators, auditors, custodians, and depositaries.Manage legal entity structures, review offering documents, and coordinate with internal accounting policy teams for consolidation and reporting.Oversee regulatory reporting processes across jurisdictions (SEC, AIFMD, CIMA, CSSF, etc.), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.Participate in strategic initiatives and continuous assessment of service operating models for optimization, including identifying automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent preferred but not required.8–12 years of relevant experience in fund accounting, financial control, or fund administration, within private market funds.Strong understanding of distribution fee structures and fund operations.Proven ability to manage complex processes and collaborate across global teams.Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and stakeholder management skills.High proficiency in Microsoft suite and familiarity with private market core platforms and tools.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment.  However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
