Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Principal Transport Planner to join our dynamic team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our organization, you will lead the delivery of transport planning services for projects, ensuring effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of transportation in one of the world's most rapidly developing regions.

Lead and coordinate small to mid-size project teams, overseeing transport planning tasks and projectsConduct comprehensive transport studies and provide expert technical guidance in areas such as traffic engineering, smart cities, and transport modelingDevelop and implement innovative solutions to complex transportation challengesManage project deliverables, task allocation, presentations, and reports to ensure high-quality outcomesEngage with clients as a key point of contact for projects and proposalsParticipate in interdisciplinary reviews and provide constructive feedbackMentor and manage team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environmentContribute to the strategic direction of the transport planning departmentStay abreast of industry trends and best practices to maintain the organization's competitive edgeRepresent the company at client meetings, industry events, and stakeholder consultations

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field (required)Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning (preferred)10-15 years of experience in transportation engineering and planningProfound understanding of transport planning and modeling principlesExpertise in using industry-standard software such as Cube Voyager, PTV VISUM, SIDRA, Synchro, and HCS+Strong technical writing skills and ability to prepare high-quality reports and presentationsProven project management experience, including coordinating teams and managing workloadsExcellent knowledge of quality assurance/control processes and procedures in project deliveryStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approachDemonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior colleaguesProficiency in statistical tools, database software packages, and GIS (e.g., ArcGIS)Knowledge of road safety principles and practicesExperience in preparing technical and commercial proposals for traffic studies and master planning servicesExcellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholdersMembership in a professional institution or society such as CIHT, ICE, or TPSEligibility for chartership/certification/license from a recognized professional body (e.g., P.E., P.Eng., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner) is preferredAdaptability to work in diverse cultural environments and willingness to travel locally within the UAE and regionally to neighboring countriesInnovative mindset with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex transportation challengesCollaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
