Chevron is accepting online applications for the position **Principal** **Trader through** **08/27/2025** at **11:59 p.m.** **Central Time.**
**Overview:**
This is an experienced natural gas trader responsible for trading financial natural gas markets to manage price risk and maximize value creation (trading earnings and EVC) related to Chevron Natural Gas assets. Develop and manage a portfolio of both NYMEX and Regional Basis while trading for profit. Maintain essential knowledge of infrastructure and strong internal and external relationships. Good teamwork skills and Chevron Way behaviors. Leverage market intelligence to develop execution strategy. Monitor deal profitability and position sizing while adhering to all FERC/CFTC regulatory requirements, trading procedures and controls. Corresponding job requirements include:
* Trades financial natural gas, both NYMEX and Basis, across the entire continental US, in pursuit of both optimization and trading for profit
* Develops trading strategies by working with Commercial Analyst to determine technical and fundamental drivers to formulate market views and trading positions
* Proactively manages all system/trading price exposures by exhibiting strong operational discipline with entry and exit levels
* Establishes and communicates clear market views associated with trading and hedging opportunities
* Manages all trading positions within DOA per policy 190D and 190C
* Builds strong industry networks with integrity and trustworthiness
* Accountable for delivering profitability targets on book of responsibility
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Education – minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree
+ Quantified experience - 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Fundamental knowledge of the North American gas grid
+ Experience working with Endur
+ Industry contacts
**Relocation Options:**
Relocation is not offered for this role. Only local candidates will be considered.
**International Considerations:**
Expatriate assignments **will not** be considered.
