Amazon is building the largest EV fleet and EV charging network in the world as part of our Climate Pledge. The GFP Electrification & Infrastructure (E&I) team is responsible for accelerating Amazon's Last Mile electrification and facilitating the successful transition of our delivery fleet to achieve net zero-emissions in support of The Climate Pledge. This role sits on the planning and data systems team within GFP E&I with a mission to install the right chargers at the right place and at the right time to enable the most cost optimized solution to electrification. Our team builds the science and data tools necessary to support electrification.
We are seeking an outgoing, positive, passionate, talented, and innovative Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) with a passion for building enterprise data solutions and infrastructure components that are highly scalable, extensible, and robust. In this pivotal role, you will shape the vision, roadmap, and execution of the Data Strategy, focusing on Data as a Product and enabling data producers and consumers within engineering, analytics, and science teams across four large organizations. You’ll need to be familiar with AWS services (Glue, EMR, DataZone, S3, Lambda, Redshift, QuickSight, SageMaker, etc.), third-party tools, and be able to drive best practices with continuous improvement and development.
Travel is required, up to 25%.
Key job responsibilities
Your will lead Data as a Product across GFP E&I, driving adoption through quality data, governance, security, technology needs, and trusted single source of truth metric reporting for business and customer metrics that drive World Wide Ops' success. You will also drive the strategy for critical program support initiatives, ensuring stakeholders, engineering teams, and customers are building trustworthy solutions for business-critical decision-making.
In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders, Data Engineers, BI Engineers, Data/Applied Science, and Machine Learning Engineers, partnering with cross-functional product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable data products. You will assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints. You will know when to set up temporary solutions to data challenges (and its accompanying processes and audits) and how to navigate the temporary solution to the long term solve. Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail-driven, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with both technical, non-technical and senior stakeholders
- Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems in short timeframes by using experiments and data
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect
- Has experience working data teams building solutions for enterprise customers and stakeholders at scale.
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
