The Role

Eastman is a pioneer in commercial-scale molecular recycling, producing virgin-quality polymer resins for durable goods, cosmetic packaging, medical devices, and food-contact applications. We are seeking an accomplished Senior Technical Service Engineer to lead our technical engagement in Central & Northern Europe, collaborating with leading brands, converters, and retailers to advance circular-economy solutions.
Responsibilities
Translate brand and converter requirements into robust Critical-To-Quality (CTQ) parameters, guiding material selection, mold design, and process optimization. Lead design-for-manufacturability workshops—particularly injection-molding trials—and resolve complex processing challenges. Represent Eastman at industry conferences, standards committees, and technical panels, delivering presentations that influence best practices. Capture and document customer insights, identify unmet needs, and partner with R&D to develop innovative, sustainable products. Develop and conduct advanced technical training, webinars, and workshops for customers, distributors, and internal teams. Monitor competitive materials, emerging processing technologies, and regulatory trends to uncover new application opportunities. Author technical marketing collateral, whitepapers, and case studies tailored to expert audiences across the value chain.

You are recognized in the plastics industry for either technical excellence or exceptional customer engagement, demonstrated by one or more of the following:
Technical Leadership
Invited speaker or panelist at leading international conferences. Peer-reviewed publications or industry-recognized technical articles. Leadership roles in industry bodies or direct influence on polymer processing standards.
Customer & Value-Chain Engagement
High-visibility external workshops, webinars, or webinars that converted prospects into strategic customers. Proven track record of translating brand objectives into measurable process improvements and commercial success. Established relationships with major brands, converters, and retailers—able to align stakeholders around shared CTQs.
Core Qualifications
BSc, MSc, or PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
≥ 10 years of industrial experience in plastic processing technologies—expert in injection molding; additional skills in extrusion, blow molding, film casting, or thermoforming are highly valued.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English (mandatory); proficiency in at least one other European language preferred.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
