Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Technical Editor and Writer position to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will report to the MDC2 Product Support Tech Publications Manager and will be a key member of the MDC2 E2 Technical Publications team. This position will be located onsite in either St. Augustine or Melbourne, Florida.
AccomplishYou will be responsible for but not limited to:
Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts.Conducts quality review of materials.SucceedThe individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications.
Basic Qualifications:
5 years with bachelor’s degree. Will consider 9 years of relevant experience, in lieu of formal degree.Experience writing in XML/S1000D International Specification for Technical Publications/IETM/Data Module writing (Arbortext, EAGLE-EPS, or similar program)Experience authoring S1000D formatted Data Modules for USN Navy Standard IETM Viewer (NSIV) and Support Equipment Technical Manuals in PDF formatComplete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standardsFull knowledge of industry practices.Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasksAble to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.Northrop Grumman production-line or military experience as an air vehicle maintainer at organizational or intermediate levels of maintenance.Must be able to obtain and retain Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:

Primary Level Salary Range: $71,600.00 - $107,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
