Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (Level 6) to support the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT)Team in Berkeley, MO.

The successful candidate is a self-starter with the ability to plan, design, develop, and verify a balanced life-cycle system solution is achieved within a collaborative environment. Within this collaborative environment the selected candidate will be tasked with performing critical work in one or more of the major disciplines of specialty engineering: Reliability & Maintainability, Systems Safety, and Human Factors. The candidate may also provide systems engineering support to the areas of affordability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, regulatory, certification, product assurance, and system effectiveness.

Position Responsibilities

Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify highly-complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Leads analyses for reliability, maintainability, testability, survivability, certification, and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.Leads, develops designs and conducts research that results in new requirements management methodologies or result in unique approaches that mitigate assessment/review findings.Creates and implements strategic approaches for program and business area decisions.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science20+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

Typical Education & Experience

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.   Summary pay range: $174,250 – $235,750
