Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer Hardware / Lead with experience in both traditional Platform design and development, and Commercial Off the Shelf COTS product management. The Pr. Systems Engineer Hardware / Lead would be engaged in the development and maintenance of existing program hardware systems, be the focal point for the COTS on the system, and general Program Lab management duties supporting various areas, ranging from Program Hardware Audits, Calibration, and general Program or lab management activities as required by the program or organization.

The Principal Systems Engineer Hardware / Lead would be involved with development, implementation of traditional computing/network/storage systems and related deployments as required, as well as supporting improving the program platform’s over-arching design through new emerging technologies. This includes existing operating systems and server hardware designs, as well as supporting the design and development of new modernized system architectures.

Note This position is based in Aurora CO. and may require some travel (20% or less) or on call support/overtime to support program or organizational hardware operations activities. 

What You Will Do

You will leverage industry and company best practices and capabilities to develop and communicate implementation of platform solutions for our datacentersYou will maintain existing systems and related COTS components on the system to support program needsYou will assist with integration of the selected platforms and maintain related Program or organization lab COTS components and systemsYou will be the focal point for the equipment room (lab) to ensure that all computer network and storage resources are properly allocated and maintained for the program’s useYou will assist the team on resource allocation & utilization to meet program or organizational milestonesYou will be an integral part of maintaining these systems and working with the organization’s needs related to Lab Audits and calibration as defined by your leadershipYou will ensure that the COTS stack and versioning is consistent across the platform as required; and will work with the team to make updates as necessaryYou will travel to customer sites to assist with system updates and deliveries when necessary

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8 years of related work experienceExperience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly previous deployment of developed systems to ground system and data processing operations for customers or the FactoryExperience with Data center activities and related hardware Audits and Calibration requirementsExperience with performing studies and provide new solutions for a hybrid approach to future Ground Terminal/data and computer environmentsCurrent TS/SCI issued security clearance is required on day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
