Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for a Principal OR Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma, OK and is assigned to 1st shift 9/80 schedule.
Primary function is supporting Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) for mature programs and other sustainment engineering efforts. Secondary functions in structural modification stress analysis supporting a high paced development effort. Looking for an Engineer who has experience with ASIP and analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability of metal and composite airframe structures. Knowledge of random vibration analysis. Tools utilized may include Catia, FEMAP, Patran, Nastran and a variety of software applications.
Essential Functions:
Manages ASIP requirements and deliverables.
Provides stress analysis for primary and secondary structure.
Review of completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
Coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.
Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.
Maintains and improves part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries.
Develops solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.
Evaluation of as built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Engineer include a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Aerospace structural design OR an MS degree in STEM with 3 years of related experience OR a PhD in STEM
Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Engineer include a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience in Aerospace structural design OR an MS degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience OR a PhD in STEM and 3 years of related experience
Experience using PATRAN, or FEMAP.
Must a current Active DoD Secret or higher clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current DoD Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
Experience working on Special Access Programs
Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
Experience working on military aircraft
Salary Range: $90,300.00 - $135,500.00Salary Range 2: $112,400.00 - $168,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
