Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking candidates for the position of Principal / Sr. Principal Factory Process Control Systems Engineer to support advanced technology development programs. This position is located at the Linthicum, MD location.

This is a dual level requisition which can be filled as a Principal  Factory Process Control Systems Engineer or Sr. Principal Factory Process Control Systems Engineer

What You’ll get to Do:

Support integration and setup of process control tools, including Fault Detection and Classification (FDC), Advanced Process Control (APC), Statistical Process Control (SPC), out of control corrective action system (OCAP) and a Recipe Management System (RMS), for a new superconducting electronics wafer fabrication lineDefine and maintain implementation schedules for process control systems, identify road blocks and potential solutions by working with internal team and external vendorsPerform requirements elicitation and collaborate with stakeholders on initial setup of process control modulesCreate acceptance test plans with the team based off inputs from the process engineering organizationApply systems engineering best practices, principles, and concepts to architectures within a manufacturing contextIdentify industry trends, best in class solutions and evaluate with internal stakeholders for continuous improvement opportunitiesWork collaboratively with other engineering team members

Basic Qualifications for Principal Factory Process Control Systems Engineer:

A degree in a STEM area (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with a minimum of 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 3 years of experience with a master’s degree, or 0 years of experience with a PhDAble to support execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross functionally within a teamFamiliarity with SPC and 6-sigma concepts for process developmentStrong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting and demonstrated problem solving in high volume manufacturingHas worked with process quality systems such as FDC, APC, SPC, and/or RMSUnderstands engineering control plans used to ensure quality of process and tool healthMust be willing to work on site 100% of timeLimited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be requiredThis position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizenMust be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance per business requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Active US government security clearance per business requirementsExperience with modern automated quality systems in a semiconductor or microelectronics fabDeep understanding of advanced process control systems such as FDC, APC, SPC, RMS, automated data collection, etc.Experience with SECS/GEM communication protocolExperience in semiconductor manufacturing lines and/or R&D microelectronics manufacturingExperience with new fab or factory systems startupsKnowledge of statistical methods and tools (e.g., JMP, SPACE)Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) in a process development contextHas worked with Applied Materials SmartFactory Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) solutionSix-sigma green belt or black certification

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00Salary Range 2: $0.00 - $0.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
