Principal Solutions Architect - Humana Military
**Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first** The Principal Solutions Architect in Humana Military will lead future technology strategy and support model for the Veterans Administration (VA) Community Care Network (CCN) contract and responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing complex IT solutions that support the VA’s mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. This role involves close collaboration with business partners, stakeholders, business development team, including VA officials, healthcare providers, and internal teams, to ensure that the solutions meet the strategic and operational needs of the CCN program. The Principal Solutions Architect translates business needs into technical systems solutions. Integrates hardware, software and network interfaces to form a system. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise. **Key Responsibilities:** **Solution Design and Architecture** + Develop technology strategy and roadmaps + Lead the design and architecture of comprehensive IT solutions tailored to the VA CCN program. + Develop, buy, partner, or build options and recommendations for technology solutions + Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices and VA standards. + Develop architectural blueprints, technical roadmaps, and high-level design documents. **Stakeholder Collaboration** + Engage with internal and external partners to gather business capability requirements and translate them into technical specifications. + Present architectural solutions and strategies to senior management and stakeholders. + Collaborate with Infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure resiliency and security is incorporated into solution architecture. **Oversight and Implementation** + Oversee the implementation of architectural solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. + Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with the overall architectural vision. **Technical Expertise and Innovation** + Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in healthcare IT and government solutions. + Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within the technology program. **Technology Risk Management and Compliance** + Ensure all solutions comply with policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements. + Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the reliability and security of IT solutions. **Documentation and Reporting** + Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, implementation plans, and project progress. + Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and issues. **Use your skills to make an impact** **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. + Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar are desirable. + Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. + Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale IT solutions within the healthcare sector, preferably with government agencies. + Strong understanding of healthcare IT standards, interoperability, and compliance requirements. + Expertise in cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture frameworks. + Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. + Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS– National Background Investigation Service) + Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position + Prior VA experiences desired **Additional Information** **Location/Work Style:** Open to remote US but preference for Louisville, KY or Washington, D.C. **Why Humana?** At Humana, we know your well-being is important to you, and it’s important to us too. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $156,600 - $215,400 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
