Principal Software Engineer – 3D Data Production - Xbox Games Studio

Are you interested in building the highest fidelity model of the world ever created to enable new levels of realism in simulation? The Flight Simulator team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer passionate about creating a fully immersive digital environment for players to experience the world around us. The position will involve building large scale data pipelines to handle global data and working with the simulation team on requirements and delivery formats.

**Responsibilities**
+ Design, implement and maintain 3D data production pipelines
+ Working closely with the engine team on formatting and delivering the data for efficient rendering.
+ Collaborating with external partners to evaluate, license, and integrate new data sources

**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C++, C#
+ OR equivalent experience
+ 5+ years experience working with geospatial data
+ 5+ years experience working with large-scale data pipelines
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Understanding of remote sensing technologies and experience working with different data sources such as Lidar, SAR, Imagery
+ Work with photogrammetry and creating 3D textured models from imagery
+ Experience working with Azure data pipelines and batch processing
+ Familiarity working with geographic data and associated tools
+ Understanding of geographic projections and datums and digital terrain models
+ Familiarity with 3D rendering techniques and how to optimize data for real-time rendering
Software Engineering IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
