Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to integrate mission-critical computers and networking devices into the overall system architectureDevelop and maintain network archiving strategies to ensure compliance with program requirements, including data retention and retrievalPerform regular network performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization to support mission-critical operationsProvide SME-level support and guidance to teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and program standardsDocument network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support long-term sustainabilityStay updated on emerging networking technologies and propose innovative solutions for program needsAssess, develop, implement, validate, and maintain Cyber security measures to comply with data/network security and flight safety requirementsBasic Qualifications – Principal Network System Engineer:
Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in network infrastructure design and management, with a focus on VLANs. Equivalent experience may be consideredKnowledge of VLANs and implementation and segregation of VLANs. Configure, monitor, and manage VLANs to ensure secure and efficient network segmentation and traffic management.Knowledge of CiscoKnowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 routing and implementing route tables, NAT and other related functions/principlesKnowledge of RHELHands-on experience with mission computer integration and configuring advanced networking devicesProficiency in using network monitoring and configuration toolsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environmentAbility to obtain a DoD Secret clearance within a timeframe set forth by managementAbility to work onsite full-time at Woodland Hills, CAPreferred Qualifications:
Experience in network archiving, including implementation of storage and retrieval systemsStrong understanding of network protocols, security standards, and best practicesCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certificationCompTIA Network+ certificationCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certificationPrimary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
