This is a role for someone who craves a global challenge balanced by the desire to be accountable for delivering against the model across the Kraft Heinz enterprise.  It is both a strategic and a tactical position.  Those that do not want to get their hands dirty or build out a function against a blank slate without buying pre-packaged solutions should not apply.   

 

 

Role / Title  

This is a Research and Development (R&D) Packaging technical role, in the Packaging Center Technology Platforms Group.  This position offers the candidate an excellent opportunity to lead innovative and disruptive packaging technology platforms (like Pkg Sustainability & Innovation) that will be instrumental in delivering novel, competitively and cost advantaged solutions across the Kraft Heinz portfolio.  

The role includes researching and identifying research pathways, demonstrating proof of concept, technology scale up, and commercialization or transition of technologies to the business unit.   

This individual must have strong technical skills and be able to link technologies to applications, while demonstrating intellectual curiosity, problem solving, leadership, and project management skills.   

This position requires an individual to manage multiple assignments/ tasks concurrently with a high degree of autonomy and potentail to manage junior pacakging researchers   

Exhibiting a collaborative mindset and applying innovative solutions are a must 

 

Key Components of the role  

Manage multiple/large initiatives with complex scopes and/or cross enterprise platforms concurrently  

Work with internal teams and cross functional partners to understand opportunities and build solid plans with defined timing and deliverables. 

Build and coordinate relationships with suppliers, technology partners, design and innovation partners to drive pkg innovation solutions  

Execute design exploration, build innovation and research plans, execute patent/literature reviews, complete tech documentation, conduct or direct prototyping, lab testing, consumer testing, qualification on pilot and/or production equipment 

Translate consumer learnings and technical research findings into meaningful solutions, communicating results and driving decisions in packaging design and innovation to drive adoption 

Act as technical/commercialization expert for junior developers and flex onto projects requiring problem solving 

Lead and drive functional training and process improvements for the pkg organization 

Present to global teams, senior leadership and key stakeholders 

Have a high degree of autonomy 

 

Qualifications: 

 

BS/MS/PhD in Packaging, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical Engineering or related field 

Minimum 6 years of experience in Packaging Development or Research and commercialization (which can include graduate work and/or internships) 

Expert understanding of packaging materials, functionality, qualification and commercialization of multiple packaging formats, design of experiments and ability to coach others in these areas 

Expert understanding of packaging design and innovation and ability to coach others in these areas 

Excellent, proven communication, influencing, project/platform management and problem-solving skills  

Strong ability to lead, coach and motivate others 

Manage multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with the ability to prioritize work for self and others. 

Willingness to travel 30%

Office Collaboration & Hybrid Work Environment

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$102,100.00 – $127,600.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
