Summarized Purpose:
As a Principal Programmer Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in statistical and bioinformatics programming for clinical trials. Your direction will ensure smooth progression from construction through analysis and reporting. You will prioritize teams, implement study approaches, and develop programs that improve efficiency. You will also be tasked with representing the department in client and regulatory agency communications, as well as supporting and advising less expert team members. Leads's programming, project oversight, and study strategy coordination for clinical trials. Coordinates team efforts, maintains statistical programs, and mentors junior team members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Collaborates with PV business users to understand the requirements and recommend solutions.
+ Develops tailored and impromptu reports from the PV/Safety database through the use of provided tools or SQL.
+ Develops and validates aggregate safety reports.
+ Solves problems and addresses end users queries related to the Safety system.
+ Supports routine dictionary upgrades.
+ Communicates with PV/Safety database vendor to facilitate system upgrades, improvements, issue resolutions, and ongoing projects.
+ Supports in crafting SOPs for the PV/Safety systems.
+ Supports in conducting internal and external audits of the PV/Safety systems.
+ Leads changes to the systems under PPD change control policy, including configuration changes and system upgrades.
+ Leads data migration and validation projects including creation of Data Migration Plans, Build Specifications, and Summary Reports to ensure data migration activities meet requirements, are complete and accurate, and delivered to a high-quality.
+ Interacts with project team or client and seeks feedback on work.
+ Provides programming support to project teams and clients for safety data review, ad-hoc reports, and other activities.
+ Takes charge of project initiatives as vital, ensuring desired outcome is reached punctually and within scope.
+ Department analytics technical lead across the most meaningful and sophisticated projects. Acts on a consultancy basis for the entire department.
+ Reviews and makes recommendations for process development and improvement.
+ Leads assignment to meet timelines and deliver high-quality work.
+ Estimates effort to assist in bidding activities or cost construction.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification
+ Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years)
Education and Experience:
+ System administration experience in Oracle Argus including current knowledge of safety system configuration, database structure, mappings requirements, and transformation rules
+ Good experience generating reports
+ Strong SQL programming skills
+ Proven record in safety data migrations
+ Knowledge of relational database structure and experience working with sophisticated data systems
+ Proficient in one or more programming languages
+ Good attention to detail
+ Problem-solving skills
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to independently and effectively coordinate and balance multiple assignments with significant timelines
+ Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities
+ Shown leadership, initiative, and motivation
+ Ability to mentor and advise junior staff
