The Azure Core organization’s Compute team is looking for a Principal Program Manager - Azure Core Compute to support the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused solutions. This role involves working closely with customers to understand their needs and the competitive landscape, and to ensure that the team’s products meet expectations for performance, quality, and scalability.
The position focuses on enhancing the customer experience across Azure Compute offerings. It requires collaboration with engineering teams to develop and support solutions that align with customer goals and business priorities. The ideal candidate will bring experience in technical program or product management and a strong interest in building impactful, customer-facing solutions.

**Responsibilities**
+ Define roadmaps for scenarios / features / capabilities that you will own.
+ Develop deep, technical execution plans.
+ Design features by converting complex requirements, metrics, and policy into technical feature specifications and designs.
+ Take a structural approach in solving complex problems. Communicate to senior decision makers in a clear & compelling way.
+ Define targets for key business KPIs, and track and report progress on them.
+ Define and implement QoS and SLA metrics for your scenarios / features / capabilities.
+ Help lead and champion a team culture that embraces diversity.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
+ 3+ years of experience working directly with customers to understand their needs and competitive landscape in order to deliver effective solutions.
+ 2+ years of experience collaborating with development teams using Agile methodologies to support product delivery and iteration.
**Other Qualifications:**
+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years' experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis,
+ OR product development
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
+ 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
+ 5+ years of experience in technical program or product management within a cloud environment.
+ 2+ years of experience using data analytics tools such as Power BI or SQL to support decision-making and product insights.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
