Principal Product Manager - Technical, Amazon Freight
Description Be a part of the next exciting phase of Amazon’s transportation technology and business growth. Amazon Freight is building the next-generation of shipping services on top of our core transportation network. This role is responsible for leading global strategy, innovation and product development for end-to-end shipper-facing features and experience. It includes providing the best-in-industry features for quoting, booking, scheduling and managing shipment orders for our shipper customers. The Principal Product Manager-Tech will own and drive the flagship customer experience (FreightCentral) for Amazon Freight shippers - comprising all discovery, onboarding, order booking, scheduling and tracking. It also involves working with marketing on coordinated launches, customer insights, and with sales on segment-specific pain-points, and finance on project KPIs and commitments. You will work with executive leaders, engineering, science and operations stakeholders to coordinate product launches, process improvement, generate ideas, validate entitlement and then direct a path to launch. You will work alongside the sales-team, to understand unique large-customer requirements, provide guidance on the our solution set and work creatively to design bespoke solutions as needed. You will define architecture, integration strategy, and work across products to drive execution. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to lead not only at the strategic level, but also tactically day-to-day by diving deeply into business and technical domains. As a multi-discipline leader leading impactful large-scale projects, the buck will stop with you. Key job responsibilities - Lead and own product strategy for Shipper experience and the FreightCentral workflows - Own and deliver on ambitious and creative roadmap aligned to customer needs and business growth - Drive insights, prioritization and alignment on roadmap and investments - Deliver on cost and efficiency goals, managing efforts, communicating status and managing stakeholder expectations. - Lead agile engineering and teams to coordinate, prioritize and deliver to a roadmap - Drive a market-aware, customer-obsessed mentality within the team - Communicate effectively on product strategy and roadmaps, and develop compelling artifacts to ensure alignment and message discipline. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition - Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product - Experience technical product management - 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience - Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product Preferred Qualifications - Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements - Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
