Description
We are seeking a Principal Product Manager Tech to improve Rufus’ helpfulness when customers don’t know exactly what they want. Rufus is Amazon's Shopping AI, a high-visibility customer experience, leveraging large language models (LLMs) as a flagship Gen-AI investment within the Stores business.
Your role will be critical in making Rufus really helpful for customers for upper funnel shopping missions, and ensuring it becomes an essential part of their shopping experience. If you are passionate about AI-driven experiences and reinventing how customers shop with Gen-AI, this is a rare opportunity to define the future of conversational commerce at Amazon.
You will own and drive the vision, strategy and roadmap for upper funnel shopping missions, invent new ways to help customers progress in their shopping journey, and make Rufus great at having fluid multi-turn conversations. Success in this role will make shopping on Amazon significantly easier for customers, and will drive a step-change in customer engagement with Rufus. Your work will directly shape the future of shopping engagement on Amazon.
In this role, you will shape Rufus CX and Science team priorities, balancing engagement growth with high-quality shopping outcomes. You will balance creative vision with technical execution, making data-driven decisions while pushing LLM science and engineering to new frontiers. You will work directly with multiple Applied Science and Engineering organizations to create the world's best shopping LLMs and invent new experiences that are only now possible. You will bring high judgment and high standards to design new user experiences and improve them relentlessly. You will invent new LLM-driven interactions, balancing technical feasibility with customer delight.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Experience driving technical products built on ML/AI/LLMs directly with Applied Science and Engineering partners.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
