This is a highly used and monetized area of our product where users desire both feature richness and ease of use. You will be instrumental in defining how newer AI paradigms can help shape the user experience that best meets customer needs, helping to drive product vision, and collaborating closely with product and engineering leadership to build innovative solutions for this critical part of our product platform.
As a Principal Designer, you will be a key driver in navigating ambiguity, rapidly iterating, and validating design hypotheses. Your expertise in high-fidelity prototyping will be essential in communicating concepts, testing assumptions, and ensuring a seamless user experience. This role needs a proactive, strategic thinker who builds engineering context quickly, learns from users and competitors and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. We’re looking for someone passionate about understanding the needs of our users and solving for them through innovative design work and collaborative problem solving.
What You'll Do: Lead Design for Concept Car experience vision: Drive the end-to-end design process for a new product experience, from initial concept to partnering with product and engineering on the optimal execution path. Collaborate across functional areas and levels to get results: This is a deeply established and used product area that, while in need of fresh thinking and a new approach, requires high consideration for change management to ensure a successful rollout. Rapid Prototyping: Create interactive prototypes using tools like Figma to effectively communicate design concepts and test user interactions User Research & Validation: Conduct user research, synthesize findings, and translate insights into actionable design decisions Strategic Vision: Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals Design System Contribution: Contribute to and evolve HubSpot’s design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across new products Mentorship & Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers, fostering a culture of design excellence Navigate Ambiguity: Effectively work both leadership on longer terms goals and existing product teams on incremental improvements, defining processes, operating systems and delivering results in the face of uncertainty.
