Principal Process Development Engineer

You have:

MS degree in Engineering 7–10 years of experience in process development Hands-on experience with optoelectronic module assembly Strong understanding of optics and optical device alignment Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo and/or SolidWorks Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work on one's own and collaboratively Detail-oriented approach with a focus on quality and safety

It would be nice if you also had:

Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments Familiarity with pick and place and adhesive dispense technologies Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and FMEA techniques Demonstrated project management skills with a strong initiative Experience in programming automated alignment equipment Background in designing tooling and fixturing Capability to mentor or train technicians Willingness to travel internationally (approx. 10% annually) Develop and optimize manufacturing processes from concept to full-scale production, ensuring seamless transfer to manufacturing teams. Design and execute experiments using Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis to validate process performance. Create and modify tooling and fixtures necessary for process implementation, utilizing the on-site machine shop where applicable. Program and calibrate automated equipment for precision alignment of optical components in product development. Conduct thorough process documentation, including process checks, to facilitate smooth transitions from development to production. Lead Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) initiatives to enhance process reliability and mitigate risks. Train and mentor technicians in equipment operation, maintenance, and calibration protocols. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicating complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
