You will be the Principal Operations Lead Engineer role for the Simulation and System Lab (SSL), Lab Operations organization. You will lead the team of Operation Lead Engineers support all Lab Operations customers, with a focus on improving the day-to-day lab operations team performance via the improvement of processes across teams and the identification of areas of improvement across a broad set of activities to ensure effective operations of the test venues across all Lines of Business to support avionics system integration and verification.
What You Will Be Doing:
As the Principal Operations Lead Engineer you will be responsible for a team of systems integration and test engineers, operations engineers, and computer resource engineers assuring the operational effectiveness of the lab operations supported test venues. The team’s activities include:
• Lab scheduling and use forecasting
• Lab run-time configuration management
• Day-to-day lab operations including test setup, support, and participation
• Lab air system equipment/prime mission equipment management
• Lab performance metrics
• Lab security
• Lab operational safety
• Lab maintenance.

You will exhibit strong problem solving skills, customer service focused thinking, excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills and be a team leader/player. You are able to interact effectively across functional disciplines such as systems engineering, software engineering, hardware engineering, project leadership, and outside disciplines such as users and program leads.
Work schedule periodically shifts to support program activities and/or customer events in a 24/7 environment.
This position is in Fort Worth, TX Discover Fort Worth.
You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications:
• Significant experience within test lab and development
• Experienced in classified lab operations, team leadership, avionics laboratory operations, computer system operation, and/or product development.
• Technical and troubleshooting experience related to lab hardware, software and/or systems.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering preferred)
Desired Skills:
• Experience in design, implementation, testing and troubleshooting of networks, Ethernet, fiber optics, and high speed buses.
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux based lab development and support systems.
• Experience in development and maintenance of simulation based systems and labs.
• Experience working in a fast paced environment with demonstrated results. Leadership and project management experience.
• Direct experience supporting development laboratories and real-time simulation environments is highly desired.
• Willing to mentor junior-level team members.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
