Principal Machinist

JOB SUMMARY

Work independently and follow the overall work schedule, as determined by the department leader.  Clean molds and complete mold changeovers to meet schedule requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Follow & update IQMS RT Scheduler mold requirements, as determined by the plannerGreen-tag readied molds; move to staging area in molding departmentDisassemble & clean molds; inspect for problems.Install changeover parts, as requiredTake measurements to determine wear & proper sizes of pins, bushings, and hold dimensionsKeep records up to date, including mold tagging system.Other duties as assignedPractice good housekeeping and appropriate measures to prevent pollution or other negative impacts on the environmentUse had power tools, Bridgeport’s, Grinders and lathesAble to train Machinist IIIAble to use the Ice Blaster as requiredAble to supervise and lean team workloadAble to work with outside vendors and create requisitionsAble to work with the molding team, press side.Able to diagnose tooling/molding issues

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or equivalentMinimum 8 years of experience working with industrial machinery and/or automotive in a mechanical aspectExperience working with injection molds, preferredExperience with forklift and pallet jack operation, preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Math and reading comprehensionAbility to read and understand work instructionsAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishMechanical aptitudeAbility to read and understand micrometers and calibers, preferredAble to read 2D and 3D CAD

Manufacturing environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
