R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.
We are now looking for several software developer professionals.
(Principal/Lead) Software Developers, Embedded Linux Platform
to join our team and help us build our platform for a growing family of onsite devices.
What is our challenge for you?
Our embedded Linux platform, KONE Common Linux (KCL), provides a variety of services including cybersecurity, device enrollment, connectivity and communication. We build our platform using the Yocto builld system and our platform most recently evolved to host containers for some applications. We have a growing family of onsite devices running our embedded platform. The next chapter of our platform brings edge capabilities to KONE’s global fleet. We continue to develop features for our elevator base and also for escalators, UI devices and more. We need developers who can help simplify this landscape and make our platform scale through decomposition and well-defined APIs.
To be successful in this role
-You have 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux system software development
-You have excellent and current C++ skills
-You design, develop and maintain software by default
-You strive to simplify complex systems
-You have worked with containerization
-You know Yocto
-You automate always
-You love Linux
What can we offer for you?
You will be working with our experts in agile software development teams, building new functionality in our onsite compute devices. Our devices are helping to bring connectivity to KONE’s elevators, escalators and UI devices on a harmonized Linux platform.

We offer flexible working time, remote working opportunities and we also support commuting to work. In this role, you can work from our Hyvinkää or Espoo office as a primary location, depending on which one is more convenient location for you. As we have a hybrid working model, you can work remotely a few days a week.
