The Senior HSE Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting Worley’s commitment to delivering sustainable change by ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance across our projects. This role provides direct support to Project and Construction Managers by fostering a culture of proactive risk management and continuous improvement. The position aligns closely with our ambition to lead in sustainability solutions, ensuring that safety and environmental integrity are at the forefront of all project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert HSE guidance and technical support to project teams to promote safe and environmentally responsible work practices in line with Worley’s strategic objectives.
Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans, policies, and procedures in compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
Partner with leadership to assess and mitigate risks that could lead to injury, illness, property damage, or environmental harm.
Actively participate in planning and execution phases to embed HSE principles from project inception to close-out.
Support incident investigations and root cause analyses, providing insight to prevent recurrence and share learnings across teams.
Lead HSE audits and inspections, analyze trends, and generate actionable reports that contribute to the continual improvement of safety performance.
Champion a culture of safety excellence by mentoring and coaching team members, enabling knowledge transfer and reinforcing accountability.
Contribute to the development of new systems, processes, and tools that enhance HSE capabilities and align with Worley’s data-driven, integrated project delivery model.
Represent the HSE function during cross-disciplinary meetings and stakeholder engagements, providing subject matter expertise on complex HSE matters.
Promote a collaborative approach across disciplines and contractors to ensure alignment with Worley’s promise of delivering sustainable transformation.
*Qualifications / Skillset
Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Extensive practical experience in HSE roles within complex engineering, energy, or infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to interpret and apply safety legislation, industry standards, and HSE best practices across diverse project environments.
Recognized as a subject matter expert in HSE, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and driving change through strategic thinking and effective communication.
Demonstrated experience in supporting mid to large-scale projects with diverse teams and multiple contractors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns and derive insights to improve systems and performance.
High level of autonomy and initiative, with experience working under broad objectives while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
Advanced knowledge of HSE management systems, incident reporting tools, and risk assessment methodologies.
Commitment to continuous improvement, ethical leadership, and advancing sustainability goals through safe and responsible operations.
Ability to guide, mentor, and review the work of other professionals, contributing to technical excellence and knowledge development within the team.
