Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Computer Systems Hardware Engineer (Principal OR Sr. Principal) to join the Compute Integrated Product Team (IPT) of the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) Site 2 program (DS2). As a Computer Systems Hardware Engineer you will be a key member of the team responsible for designing and standing up of several high-performance computer environments required for DS2. This role will be reporting to the DS2 Compute IPT lead and work collaboratively with other functional disciplines to design, document and implement a computer system architecture baseline that will meet operational requirements for the system. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundational knowledge in the integration of computer system hardware components and infrastructure design (i.e., Rack Elevations, Engineering Drawings, Electrical Power, Heating & Cooling). Collaboration across a multi disciplined IPT to design, document, procure, integrate and test several high-performance computer environments is paramount.
This role can be filled at either Principal OR Sr. Principal level.

Collaboratively define and document the computer system and support infrastructure designDevelop engineering drawings and associated bill of materialsManage and control the HW engineering baseline (Change requests, redlines, document as built)Determine HW component system specificationsDetermine Infrastructure requirements (Power, Heating and Cooling)Develop integration plans and schedulesSupport procurement activities and collaborate with global supply chainIntegrate and check out HW componentIdentify, analyze, and resolve program support deficienciesDevelop and recommend corrective actionsBasic Qualifications
Principal: 5 years with a Bachelors in Science, 3 years with a Masters in Science degree, and 1 years with the PHDSr. Principal: 8 years with a Bachelors in Science, 6 years with a Masters in Science degree, and 4 years with the PHDActive DoD Secret clearance required at time of applicationExperience with requirements decomposition and derivation down to hardware subsystem level and hardware component level specificationsFamiliar with engineering drawings and baseline management processesExperienced with procurement processExperience with cable management and various cable types typical for IT environments (Ethernet, Power, Fiber)Ability to optimize HW component placement within environments considering airflow, cable management, tip hazards, and densityFamiliar with integrating a broad set of commercial hardware system components (i.e., servers, switches, routers, network-attached (storage))Experience with Atlassian tool sets (JIRA, Confluence)Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering principlesAbility to travel up to 10% domesticallyAbility to travel internationally for up to 3 consecutive months during the deployment phase of the programPreferred QualificationsTeamcenter or similar Product Lifecycle Management System experienceAbility to perform heating and cooling analysis associated with large IT environmentsAbility to calculate total power demands and loads on power distribution circuitsFamiliar with the use of RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzersExperience with within Model Based Systems Engineering tools such as CAMEOPrimary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
