Principal Finance, Global Deal Strategy Finance
Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks an experienced finance leader to be a key member of the Global Deal Strategy Finance team, supporting private pricing and our most strategic deals. This role will be a strategic partner to the business, supporting the development and financial controllership of pricing related programs. The candidate will be responsible for building and developing models, tools and mechanisms necessary to address business opportunities, innovate with automation, continuously improve internal controls, and drive collaboration across multiple business and finance teams. This candidate must have a passion for detail and the ability to dive deep into the foundational building blocks of the AWS Services, Sales Organizations and Business Development Organizations. Key Responsibilities: - Drive finance support from the very start of the deal process through closing, and provide insights and input to optimize decision making by partnering across senior leadership and deal structuring teams. - Develop complex financial models that calculate customer profitability. - Develop and managed efficient and scalable controllership mechanisms and processes. - Understand the various AWS Services, their economics, and how each impacts profitability and various financial outputs. - Independent and entrepreneurial showing the ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Key job responsibilities This position will work closely across private pricing program teams and the broader Sales organization, gain deep knowledge of both the strategy and the processes involved, and leverage business acumen and critical thinking to add value throughout the development and management of private pricing related programs. A successful candidate will be able to earn trust with business partners across several groups of stakeholders, dive deep into the subject matter, and be able to communicate effectively and drive decisions across VP level stakeholders. Basic Qualifications - 12+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 7+ years of finance technology, forecast & budgeting, or other finance-focused competency experience Preferred Qualifications - MBA, or CPA - Experience in a leadership position managing finance, accounting and operational processes - Experience with Tableau, Python, SQB, Quicksight, Cognos or or other BI packages Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
