We are looking for you to join our team as a Principal or Senior Principal Technical Writer/Editor based out of McClellan, CA in the Sacramento area.

You will be responsible for writing, rewriting, and editing technical documents, including technical component specifications, process manuals, user manuals, program documents, and related publications. Your primary focus will be on clear and effective communication of technical specifications and instructions.
You will also assist the engineering team by writing and reviewing specifications concerning the selection and qualification of electronic, electric, electromechanical, and material components and assemblies. This collaborative effort ensures that all documentation aligns with product specifications and reflects reliability, effectiveness, and sustainability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Create, revise, and edit various technical documents to clearly convey complex information by analyzing engineering, military, regulatory, and manufacturer data from various sourcesAssist in writing and reviewing technical specifications related to component selection and qualificationCollaborate with engineering teams to gather and clarify relevant technical information and requirementsEnsure all documentation meets industry standards for clarity, consistency, and accuracySupport the engineering team by providing feedback on the documentation process to enhance quality and effectivenessCollaborate closely with key stakeholders to gather essential data for accurate and comprehensive technical documentation.Ensure the timely, precise, and efficient delivery of all specifications and technical documentsThis position may be filled as a Principal Technical Writer/Editor or Senior Principal Technical Writer/Editor.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Technical Writer/Editor:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of technical writing experience; or 3 years with Masters; or 1 Year with PhDExperience with processing technical writing activities and development of standards for style, formatting, and/or qualityExperience in the Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, PowerPoint, and/or ExcelFamiliar with defense industry processes, procedures, manuals, work instructions and/or other process documents.Must be a U.S. CitizenClearance: Must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Technical Writer/Editor:

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00Salary Range 2: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
