About the Role
Join our team as a Principal Smart TV Application Developer and help us build innovative streaming applications for Smart TV platforms and mobile devices using Flutter for a revolutionary new music discovery platform. This role focuses primarily on extending our Flutter expertise to TV platforms while maintaining cross-platform consistency. You'll join a project in its early stages under the guidance of experienced leaders with a proven track record in launching and scaling music products. You will play a pivotal role in making crucial decisions that will shape our TV implementation strategy using Flutter as our core framework. Our product is designed to offer a modern, ambitious user experience, integrating content delivery, audio playback, machine learning, and recommendation systems optimized for the big screen—all built with Flutter. Be a part of transforming music consumption across devices with us.

What You Will Do
•    Operate in a fast-paced, startup-like environment to launch a new business within Harman.
•    Serve as a technical leader for TV application development using Flutter.
•    Develop TV applications for platforms like Tizen, LG, Android TV, and Apple TV using Flutter, leveraging the same codebase used for our mobile applications.
•    Make autonomous technical decisions to drive our TV platform strategy forward with Flutter.
•    Proactively create development patterns for optimizing Flutter performance on TV devices.
•    Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to deliver a high-quality TV viewing experience.

What You Need to Be Successful
·    Experience: 10+ years in application development with at least 2 years of Flutter experience and some Smart TV platform exposure.
·    Technical Skills: Strong understanding of TV app development using Flutter alongside mobile Flutter development for iOS and Android.
·    UI/UX Collaboration: Proven experience working with UI/UX designers to produce highly polished Flutter interfaces for TV's 10-foot experience.
·    Flutter Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with the Flutter framework, particularly extending Flutter applications to TV platforms.
·    Performance Optimization: Expertise in optimizing Flutter application performance for resource-constrained TV devices.
·    Frontend Engineering: Experience in Flutter frontend engineering for customer-facing products across multiple screen sizes.
·    Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with implementing Flutter on TV platforms (Tizen, LG webOS, Android TV, etc.).
·    CI/CD: Proficient with automated pipelines for continuous build and integration systems for Flutter projects across multiple platforms.

Bonus Points if You Have 
·    Bachelor's degree in computer science or another related field.
·    Experience with Flutter plugin development for Smart TV platforms.
·    Experience with Smart TV certification processes and requirements.
·    A passion for music and interest in working on products that bring joy to music lovers worldwide.
·    Virtual or Remote work in any US time zone.
·    Familiarity with Rust
·    Familiarity with C/C++
·    Experience with media playback engines on TV, mobile, or desktop platforms
·    Previous work optimizing Flutter performance on Smart TV Platforms.

What Makes You Eligible
·    Position is 100% Remote
·    You must be available for meetings and team interaction during typical continental US business hours. 
·    Be willing to travel up to 5%, domestically and internationally.   
·    Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

$ 120,750 - $ 177,100
