Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems provides an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Network – Global Network Engineer (25-316) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This role, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a crucial part in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital component of the Missile Defense System. It is a crucial operational system that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control designated networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC provides a layered missile defense capability that delivers an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a critical part of all ground and flight tests, which verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.

The candidate will serve as an S8.2 Network Development Engineer responsible for planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the S8.2 C2BMC network at operational sites. The candidate will need to travel to remote locations to perform network installations following Program configuration management processes, independently troubleshoot issues, and provide status updates to the Program personnel.

Essential Functions:

Must be a proven network engineer with practical experience and knowledge of network architecture design, development, and testing methodsExtensive and proven experience in network development, including creating, testing, and deploying new and upgraded capabilitiesExperience with network automation, including both the development and deployment of network and management systemsDemonstrated experience with Ansible or similar automation toolsExperience in loading and modifying MIBs and SEED files, writing scripts for network automation, and developing fixlets to be used with IBM BigFix for efficient deployment of updates in the fielded environmentPractical experience with monitoring, network diagnostics, and network analytics toolsMust be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills, proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing toolsMust be able to work collaboratively in a team with other highly motivated network engineers, as well as independently at times on large field projectsMust demonstrate proven troubleshooting skills

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
