What You'll Get To Do:
• Designs manufacturing processes and procedures for Electro-Mechanical assemblies and production equipment.
• Designs sequence of operations and specified procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
• Performs total productive maintenance, 6S Audit management, tracks yield, scrap, and parts consumption for assembly efforts.
• Creates Work Plans for Electro-Mechanical products within shop floor control system.
• Works closely with production floor supervisor, quality, and design engineering and supports day-to-day production activities.
• Complete understanding of assembly level build hierarchy.
• Understands and interprets engineering drawings and recommend design changes to ease product manufacturability
• Assisting with On-the-Job Training of new personnel
• Experience in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques across manufacturing environment
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Second Shift Manufacturing Engineer 3, who will support the Production Organization based in San Diego, CA.
Basic Qualifications Manufacturing Engineer 3:
BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related STEM Technical field with a minimum of 5 years industry experience.
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Experience in computer assisted design software (SolidWorks/CATIA)
Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specifications
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T
Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing Engineer 3
SAP (MRP) and Solumina or equivalent shop floor system experience
Experience with J-STD and MIL-STD requirements.
Experience with continuous improvement, Six Sigma and Lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
Hands on experience in programing, sustaining, and troubleshooting Electronics Manufacturing Equipment (Reflow Oven, Pick and Place, Ribbon Bonding, and Airvac/Selective Solder)
Experience in Electro-Mechanical manufacturing processes
