Position Overview

The Autodesk Growth Engineering Technology – Commerce and Support Assistant team is looking for a passionate Principal Software Engineer with extensive experience in distributed systems to join us. Become a key part of Autodesk’s mission to build a scalable, real-time collaboration and AI assistant platform that powers support and commerce experiences across Autodesk products.

This role is based in Bengaluru, India, and reports to a Senior Engineering Manager located in San Francisco, CA, USA. This is an exciting opportunity to build innovative systems and learn from some of the best in the industry.

Responsibilities

Regularly address significant and most challenging problems on the team, from technical design to launch

Deliver solutions that are used by other teams and products.

Devise strategies for tackling large projects

Regularly address complex architectural challenges and implement architectural standards in new projects

Lead code reviews & documentation as well as take on complex bug fixes, especially on high-risk problems

Partner across engineering teams to take on company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects

Mentor junior members

On-call support, requiring availability on a rotating schedule for evenings and weekends to ensure 24/7 availability of the application

Minimum Qualifications

BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding

Over 6 years of professional experience developing scalable, distributed applications

Part of a large distributed team with significant responsibility

Minimum 6 years of experience as a full-stack engineer developing and testing both frontend and backend

Strong experience in programming languages like ReactJS and NodeJS

Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript

Experience designing and building RESTful APIs using Microservices architecture

Strong knowledge of AWS, Databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud architecture

Experience with Git or equivalent distributed revision control systems

Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins

Strong experience and understanding of working on Agile processes like SCRUM

Strong communication skills, and ability to influence without authority

Ability to write quality technical documents - functional Specs, high-level/low level design documents, RFCs etc

Ability to cultivate consensus and alignment within and across teams

Self-motivated, quick learner with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong team player
