As a Principal Engineer, you will use engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final development within a team environment.
Collaborate with various Baxter Divisions worldwide to gather data, assess changes, write plans, protocols, and reports, and analyze data.
What you'll be doingCollect and analyze product development information.Coordinate teams, facilitating meetings, and prioritize activities related to product development.Complete engineering tasks for a range of MPT products, such as IV disposable devices, Advanced Surgery devices, Elastomeric products, and others. Tasks involve assessing feasibility, establishing engineering requirements, and performing design verification/validation activities.Choose effective methods to address challenges and provide build suggestions.Work with manufacturing facilities to develop and implement production of experimental units for testing.Occasional travel (less than 10%) to Global Baxter sites may be required.Conduct root cause investigations related to development issues.What you'll bringBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical/Bioengineering, Chemical, Materials Science, or related field with over 5 years of experience, or Master's degree in Engineering with more than 3 years of experience.Experience or advanced training and demonstrated proficiency in Building History Files and other key areas, such as regulations, quality processes, statistical methods, problem analysis and resolution, materials science, development inputs, development outputs, etc.Act independently with minimal supervision. Encouraged to make suggestions and provide feedback based on technical knowledge.Ability to convince management on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods.Effectively facilitate cross-functional international teams with some mentorship.Must be able to provide solutions that reflect understanding business objectives and cost implications.Baxter is dedicated to accommodating the demand for adaptability in the workplace. We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000-$143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
