We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced hands-on **Principal Engineering** to design, develop, and oversee enterprise application platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in middleware technologies and data engineering, with a focus on creating and rearchitecting scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that align with business objectives. As an ideal candidate, you: + Design and implement enterprise application platforms that support business needs and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. + Refactor and re-architect existing legacy middleware applications to align with modern architectural standards and business requirements. + Develop and maintain middleware solutions to enable seamless integration between various enterprise systems and applications. + Collaborate with stakeholders to define platform architecture strategies and roadmaps. + Lead the evaluation and selection of tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance platform capabilities. + Ensure data engineering best practices are followed, including data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline optimization. + Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices. + Monitor platform performance and implement improvements to optimize system efficiency and reliability. + Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in middleware, data engineering, and enterprise architecture. + **Hands-On Technical Guidance, Mentorship and Leadership:** + Actively participate in the development and deployment of middleware solutions and data pipelines. + Write and review code to ensure high-quality implementation of architectural designs. + Perform hands-on troubleshooting and debugging of platform-related issues. + Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype and validate new technologies and solutions. + Lead by example, demonstrating technical expertise and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. **The Person:** You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. In fact, you embrace it. **Key Qualifications:** + You are expected to write the first draft and lead by doing. + 13+ years of experience in Software Product development with 3 years minimum of experience as hands on Principal/Engineering leader + Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. + Architecting modern node-based applications (in Nest or similar modern technologies) with JavaScript/TypeScript expertise. + Scalability and security experience. + Proven experience as a Platform Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar role. + Strong expertise in middleware technologies (e.g., API gateways, message brokers, ESB). + Extensive experience in data engineering, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data platforms. + Extensive experience in reporting and analytics. + Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). + Solid understanding of enterprise application integration patterns, modular and microservices architecture. + Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. + Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. **The Details:** You’ll receive a competitive salary and a great benefits plan, including: + Medical, dental, life, vision, disability, 401(k), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement in addition to programs & benefits in support of your well-being. + Discounts on Stanley Black & Decker tools and other partner programs. **And More:** We want our company to be a place you’ll want to be – and stay. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
