Principal Electrical Engineer

Wood is currently looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our System Integration (SI) team within our Digital Consulting business supporting a key UK project within Aberdeenshire.  

This is a hybrid role that can be based at any of the following UK offices: Aberdeen, Staines, Reading or Glasgow with the expectation of travel to site as required.   

Applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role  

The Principal Electrical Engineer will act as the project lead, coordinating a team of engineers to ensure the successful delivery in line with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. 

This role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure technical compliance and alignment with project goals, while managing budgets, schedules, and risk. Strong communication and reporting skills are essential, with regular engagement and alignment with project and senior management to ensure transparency, progress tracking, and strategic decision-making. 

Drawing on extensive industry experience, the Principal Electrical Engineer will provide expert guidance and technical assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
