Role description:
This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across Romania, India and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.
The MEPF Discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) in the GECs is comprised of cross-functional teams, that contribute to the development of innovative MEPF solutions that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. Our ability to effectively manage projects, assess client needs, and provide technical guidance is crucial in delivering successful outcomes, using the most innovative way of doing computational design.
Role accountabilities:
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
Do engineering design of general lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution (up to 1kV), fire signaling systems, burglary, and CCTV systems: load calculations, potential earthing design, electrical consumer list, detailing single line diagram, etc. Design, calculate, sketch, model in 3D tools, due process & instrumentation diagrams, electrical panel diagrams, and details of execution drawings. Build proficiency in REVIT and BIM checking software as well as other software used in calculation. Plan, organize, and execute projects effectively. This includes managing budgets, coordinating with other disciplines, and overseeing the work of junior engineers or technicians. Estimating necessary budget, resource list and schedule for the entire electrical scope of the project. Create comprehensive engineering documents, including equipment specifications, reports, presentation. Follow company standards and procedures including design and checking. Attend relevant design and client meetings to gain a better understanding of the project and design work required, asking questions of the internal team as necessary. Ensure that Electrical designs meet safety and environmental regulations, sustainability and energy efficiencies regulations following industry standards and guidelines. Implement national/international standards in Electrical design as well as client demands and project specific requirements.Qualifications & Experience:
Mandatory:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Building services. Strong knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and calculation software. Advanced English language skills. Extensive knowledge of norms and standards related to LV Electrical Design. Extensive knowledge of energy and sustainability regulations and industry best practices. Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design for buildings (power, lighting, grounding, lightning protection). Have problem solving skills, creativity, to show proactivity and analytical skills. Very good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Implementation of quality procedure to ensure a good design deliverable. Comprehensive leadership skills and previous experience in managing large-scale projects. Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, needed for collaborating with clients, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the design process. To show interest in personal and professional growth, in a challenging, rewarding, and competitive professional environment. Technical and quality focus. Eagerness to mentorship junior engineers. Advanced English language skills.Nice to have:
Master's degree in electrical engineering. Knowledge of electrical specialized software (Revit, ETAP, EPLAN, Amtech, Intelec, etc.). Knowledge of command-and-control systems for motor starting. Strong experience in very low voltage installations design (fire signaling, burglary, control access, CCTV etc.). Experience in BMS design. ANRE certificate IIA. Security systems designer certification. Show out-of-the box thinking in order to identify any opportunities for automation or innovation.Key attributes:
