About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Principal Digital Marketing Manager to orchestrate key web transformation programs for www.workday.com and accelerate interactive Customer Growth Engine adoption. This pivotal role will be instrumental in crafting a more engaging, personalized, and effective digital experience for our global audience. The ideal candidate is naturally curious and resourceful, has strong technical and project management skills, understands B2B website best practices, has built CGE programs, worked with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), and generates insights from analytics. This role involves collaborating with various teams to optimize Workday.com and utilize data, AI/ML, and personalization to drive demand.

This position is on the Workday Global Digital Marketing team and will play a meaningful role in the mission to drive personalized and connected experiences that engage audiences and accelerate business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

New Web Capabilities Acceleration: 

Independently leads and manages multiple web site initiatives aimed at enhancing the user experience, increasing engagement, and driving S1 ACV on workday.com.

Move cross-company projects, like Customer Growth Engine, forward with cross-functional subject matter experts, often outside of Marketing, to bring strategic programs and projects that drive prospect engagement and harness buyer intent to life.

Identify opportunities and accelerate adoption of Workday’s Customer Growth Engine (Product-led Growth) digital experiences. 

Define project scope, use cases, business impact, timelines, and understand resource allocation in collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., web development, design, content, UX, web production) to refine or develop new AEM components or other web technologies.

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, track progress, and proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues.

Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all stakeholders, such as Digital Marketing Managers, UX designers, SEO specialists, web developers, other marketing team members, and coworkers outside of Marketing, throughout the project lifecycle.

Support the optimization team in identifying new use cases for personalization and A/B testing to improve website content, layout, and functionality for improved conversion rates and engagement.

Website Audit & Analysis:

Analyze website data (using tools like Adobe Analytics and ContentSquare) to understand user behavior, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities for optimization.

Support comprehensive website audits to identify areas for improvement, including general digital user experience best practices, content effectiveness, technical performance, SEO, generative search optimization (GEO), and interactive calculators. Translating audit findings and data insights into actionable recommendations.

Leverage analytics and usability findings to identify and prioritize testing and optimization opportunities.

Data-Driven Focus:

Develop a prioritized roadmap of high-impact digital capabilities that leverage customer and prospect data to drive demand generation.

Analyze and validate the return on investment (ROI) of new digital capabilities by evaluating use cases, conducting feasibility assessments, and projecting business impact.

Monitor lagging and leading indicators of  key performance indicators (KPIs) measuring effectiveness of new capabilities, report on their impact, and continuously challenge the status quo by taking performance to new levels.

Driving Innovation and Change:

Prepare materials and communications to guide marketing teams through innovation, change management, and rapid adoption of new ways of working, while showcasing business impact.

Evangelize the impact of new digital capabilities through internal Slack updates, newsletters, and accelerate adoption via training.

Stay informed about the latest web technologies, digital marketing trends, and AEM best practices.

About You

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 12 years of experience in digital marketing, with a focus on marketing websites. 

Possess 2+ years experience in product-led growth (PLG) programs, with a particular focus on optimizing the down-funnel customer journey and accelerating deal closure. This includes a proven track record in identifying and implementing PLG initiatives that drive conversions and increase customer lifetime value.

Minimum of 4 years managing web transformation projects or website redesigns.

Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience working with enterprise-level Content Management Systems (CMS), with a strong preference for experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

Minimum of 2 years creating reports using  website analytics platforms (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions.

Strong project management skills and experience using project management methodologies and tools such as Workfront and Jira. 

Preferred Qualifications:

B2B digital marketing and developing experiences for customer journeys up to S3.

Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. 

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Knowledge of SEO principles and their application to website development.

Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and best practices.

Experience with personalization technologies and strategies.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
