Are you living your life's work? + Entity: Corporate + Department: PennDnA Data Mgmt and Ops + Location: Remote based out of 3535 Market St. Philadelphia, PA + Hours: 8hr Days **Summary** : + The Principal Data Architect is responsible for leading the design and implementation of comprehensive data architecture solutions to support PennDnA's data management and analytics initiatives. This role requires a strong background in data architecture, database design, and data modeling, with proven leadership and communications skills and extensive experience in data management and analytics, preferably in healthcare. The Principal Data Architect reports to the Senior Manager of Data Architecture. **Responsibilities** : + Enterprise Data Strategy: Define and drive the enterprise-wide data architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap. Establish architectural principles and patterns that shape the organization's overall data ecosystem. Provide executive-level guidance on emerging technologies and their potential impact on organizational strategy. + Data Architecture Governance: Establish enterprise-wide architectural standards, patterns, and review processes. Mentor and develop Lead and Senior Data Architects and other senior technical staff. Implement robust data security controls and access management mechanisms to protect sensitive healthcare information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse + Enterprise Information Modeling: Direct the development of enterprise-wide information architecture and canonical data models. Define the organization's approach to data modeling, metadata management, and master data management. Create frameworks for managing data as a strategic asset across the enterprise. + Strategic Platform Design: Drive decisions for enterprise data platform selection and evolution. Define reference architectures for key technological capabilities including data mesh, data fabric, and enterprise integration patterns. Provide architectural oversight across all major data initiatives and transformational programs. + Data Architecture Design: Lead the development and implementation of data architecture strategies, roadmaps, and standards to support the enterprise's data management and analytics objectives. Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of data architects and data management professionals to ensure the successful execution of data architecture projects. + Collaboration: Build relationships with senior leaders. Enlist the help of others across the enterprise, as needed. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and develop solutions that align with organizational goals + Continuous Improvement: Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies and architectural patterns. Drive innovation initiatives and proof-of-concepts for new architectural approaches. Model a culture of performance excellence both within team and across the enterprise. Actively seeks and applies feedback from others to strengthen capabilities + Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures + Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization **Education or Equivalent Experience:** + Bachelor of Arts or Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Required) + And 12+ years' Experience in data architecture design, database design and data management. Proven track record of independently leading projects from concept to execution, coordinating with cross-functional teams, as needed.
