About the Role
This is a highly experienced Corporate Affairs role. The main purpose of the role is providing technical expertise in the management of the global strategy, framework and implementation required to protect and enhance BHP’s reputation, to manage risk and to contribute to social value creation.
One of the BHP strategic business objectives (SBO) is Copper growth, Minerals Americas ambition includes Spence Growth pathway projects as contributor of this SBO.
This role is key contributor for the successful of Spence Growth Program. Accountable for delivering a methodological and standardized approach for the Stakeholders Engagement Plan and Communications Plan to achieve the objectives of the business in Antofagasta Region.
The role is based in Antofagasta, requiring full presence in the territory, travelling to Santiago occasionally.
The main accountabilities of the role are:
• Accountable for development and deployment of the Stakeholder management strategy with a 2030-2035 perspective, as enabler for Spence growth program.
• Accountable for developing and executing a trustworthy and effective Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) in Antofagasta Region, ensuring an integrated approach for the execution of SEP in the communes of the area of influence of Spence. Considering annual metrics and SMART KPIs to follow up the progress.
• Develop a consistent plan (within the stakeholder management strategy) to identify, promote and execute opportunities of public-private alliances to build independent and healthy partnerships with communities and other stakeholders.
• To build a consistent narrative to support Spence program, working closely with Pampa Norte Communications role.
• Responsible of maintain an update periodically the corporate affairs risk profile (material and non-material). Proactively propose and manage mitigation plans and controls for potential community and reputational risks. Support development and deliver of Issue management plan prioritized.
• Ensure alignment of Public Affairs performance with Social investment program, ensuring healthy and trusted relationship with communities and governments, to enable Spence growth through a better position for permits required.
• Responsible for implementing standards, procedures and schedule as defined. Develop and deliver high value content of corporate affairs management, through memorandums, protocols, procedures and other ways to systematize and capture continuous improvement performance.

Accreditations and Qualifications:
• Verifiable experience in public affairs strategies and plans.
• Verifiable experience in identification of processes and elaboration of procedures.
• Engineering or other related sciences.
• +5 Years of experience in corporate affairs roles.
• Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
