About the Role

As a Principal Heritage Consultant, you will:

Be responsible for leading a team of Brisbane-based cultural heritage specialists.

Build relationships with new and existing clients.

Work collaboratively with ERM’s national heritage team, which is dispersed across Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.

Lead and conduct First Nations cultural heritage and archaeological surveys and assessments, primarily in QLD and occasionally in other regions.

Work alongside and consult with Traditional Owners, ensuring respectful and meaningful collaboration.

Provide technical advice and services to clients while honing your project management and technical skills.

Develop and grow in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, with exposure to a wide variety of projects and challenges.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking passionate, proactive professionals with:

A tertiary degree in archaeology, anthropology, Australian First Nations studies, or a related discipline.

8–10 years of fieldwork experience in First Nations cultural heritage or archaeology.

Comprehensive knowledge of QLD aboriginal heritage legislation and the statutory approvals process.

The ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices.

Exceptional writing and communication skills.

The ability to conduct fieldwork and operate in remote locations when needed.

A valid Australian driver’s licence.

Familiarity with WHS obligations and responsibilities.

Authorisation to work in Australia.
