**Introduction**
At IBM, work is more than a job - it's a calling: To build. To design. To code. To consult. To think along with clients and sell. To make markets. To invent. To collaborate. Not just to do something better, but to attempt things you've never thought possible. Are you ready to lead in this new era of technology and solve some of the world's most challenging problems? If so, lets talk.
**Your role and responsibilities**
The Principal Consultant will demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to collaborate across teams performing work for our clients, particularly in the Automotive industry. You will have advanced experience and technical capabilities working with modern data technologies to support organizations in securely managing, analyzing, and deriving insights from complex data. You understand project and program management, people leadership, and how to communicate effectively internally and externally with clients.
You will provide guidance and leadership to project teams moving data to the cloud, designing scalable and compliant ingestion pipelines (ETL/ELT), architecting data warehousing solutions, performing advanced analytics and AI-driven insights, and building data-intensive applications that support regulatory requirements, patient outcomes, and operational efficiencies. This role requires hands-on experience, excellent analytical skills, team orientation, flexibility, innovative thinking, problem-solving, conflict management, and self-motivation.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for individuals with experience building data warehouses and analytics systems in the cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) with an understanding of Automotive-specific data challenges, including interoperability, security, and regulatory compliance. The opportunity requires you to design, develop, and troubleshoot complex data issues at the enterprise level, particularly in healthcare provider, payer, pharmaceutical, and life sciences organizations.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* 7+ years in related technical roles, with 2+ years leading the development of modern data architecture, preferably in a consulting capacity, with experience in Automotive data environments
* Extensive knowledge of operationalizing data lakes and warehouses in a production environment, with considerations for data privacy, interoperability, and regulatory compliance
* Experience designing and developing data warehouses (Teradata, Oracle Exadata, Netezza, SQL Server, Spark) with specific data models and industry standards
* Experience building ETL/ELT ingestion pipelines (DataStage, Informatica, Matillion) with a focus on handling structured and unstructured data sources
* Ability to design & document architectures that align with industry standards for data security, governance, and compliance
* Experience implementing data lakes and warehouses in a cloud environment
* Understanding of business intelligence and data analytics needs
* Cloud experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, or GCP, including cloud-based data services like AWS
* Ability to troubleshoot and solve development and operational bottlenecks, particularly those related to handling large-scale data sets
* Expertise in securing healthcare data environments, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and audit logging
* Proven experience using SQL
* Proven experience using Python or Scala for data transformation and analytics
