We are inviting applications for the role of Principal Consultant, Java Back end Engineer

The senior java engineer role is responsible integrating Loan Approval system to other services across the rich ecosystem. We work closely with other experts to build evolving requirements into the application, to stay accurate and regulatory compliant. You will join a cross-functional squad and work with colleagues in Dublin, Amsterdam, Manila and further afield. 

Responsibilities

Create, develop and support advanced business applications within Wholesale Banking  

Collaborate with your team to understand business requirements and together translate them into the solution 

Search and propose solutions using the newest technologies. Help your team grow and think of ways to make solutions scalable and future-proof 

Ensure code quality and maintainability by thorough testing, tackling technological debt, conducting code reviews, and refactoring 

You continuously improve your skills to adapt to new situations, and always deliver the highest quality results 

You have a pro-active attitude; you speak up about your ideas and like working with a team 

Excellent knowledge on Linux and Oracle SQL ,Java Streams API, Agile Methods. Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design Patterns 

Excellent knowledge of Java 11 and beyond, as well as Git and Maven 

Experience with projects using Spring Framework/Spring Boot  

Experience with RESTful APIs 

Experience in working with Kafka, MQ or JMS  

Experience working with test frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Selenium, Cucumber, PACT 

Good knowledge of relational databases, e.g. Oracle 

Experience and understanding of (test) automation, continuous delivery, deployment tools and pipelines. (We work with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes on OpenShift). 

Knowledge of Micro-Services architecture, container technologies: Docker, OpenShift 

Knowledge in SRE/Tooling/Monitoring/Alerting, like Grafana and Prometheus 

Skillset

Kafka Connect, Schema registry Experience. 

Kafka Streaming, Lending Business 

Observability Experience (Grafana, Kibana, Elastic..) 

Oracle golden gate.
