Job Purpose and Impact
The Cloud Security Engineer will help solidify foundation for the company's modern business applications. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of cybersecurity and cloud engineering practices to secure and operate Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service used by our data and application teams to drive business value. You will also lead and coach security team of engineers to deliver highly scalable security solutions using automation.
Key AccountabilitiesLead the development of resilient cloud environment that protects sensitive data and critical business applicationsCollaborate with cloud platform engineers, software engineers and other key stakeholders to create security solutions aligning to industry’s best practices while fostering trusted relationshipsLead a team of cloud security engineers and be a security thought leader for the organizationAssess cloud security risks, automate security controls, and support the Incident Response team while making continuous improvements to the organization's cloud security postureAddress evolving threats to Cargill’s cloud platforms in cloud security strategies and platform designs. Develop secure network designs specific to cloud environments. Optimize investments in cloud security technology to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and cost-effective. Stay informed about emerging technology trends that impact the company’s security and risk posture. Define and document how the implementation of new systems or interfaces between cloud systems affects the security posture of the current environmentQualificationsMinimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field and or equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience working in a cloud engineering role. In-depth knowledge of cloud security services, tools, and best practices for AWS, Azure, and other major cloud providers. Experience in running cloud security solutions in a large enterprise. Familiarity with cloud automation, management, and deployment capabilities. Knowledge of container architectures, CNAPP, CSPM, CASB, CIEM, CWPP, and CI/CD security in the cloud. Demonstrates flexibility in changing situations, adapting ideas or perceptions in response to evolving circumstances, and altering standard procedures when necessary. Ability to multitask effectively.
